Zwei Tage, zwei Welten – und ich mittendrin.
Das Festival zwischen den Welten auf Schloss Kleiningersheim war für mich als Fotograf etwas ganz Besonderes. Normalerweise bin ich zwischen wilden Pits, harten Riffs und kreischenden Vocals unterwegs – aber dieser Freitagabend hat mich rausgeholt aus der Routine und in eine ganz andere Welt hineingezogen.
Der erste Tag stand unter dem Motto „Irische Nacht“, und im Mittelpunkt: Countertenor Nils Wanderer. Mit unglaublicher Bühnenpräsenz und beeindruckender Stimmgewalt hat er den Ton für den Abend gesetzt – mal zerbrechlich, mal voll strahlender Intensität.
An seiner Seite: Sharon Lyons, deren Stimme viele aus der Serie Vikings kennen. Sie hat dort die eindrucksvolle Filmmusik „Sacrifice“ beigesteuert – einen archaisch improvisierten Vokaltrack, aufgenommen in Devil’s Glen in Irland. Live, in der Kulisse des Schlosses, entfaltete ihre Stimme eine Gänsehautwirkung, die noch tiefer ging.
Begleitet wurden die beiden vom Irischen Scotia Ensemble, das mit feinfühligem Spiel und viel Seele die Bühne zum Schwingen brachte. Und als sich dann auch noch die Sonne langsam senkte, goldenes Licht die Mauern berührte und die Vögel fast schon im Takt mit einstimmten – da war dieser Moment perfekt.
Ein Abend zwischen Licht und Klang, Stimme und Stille – und das Publikum mittendrin, genauso berührt wie ich hinter der Kamera.
Tag 2 – Electronic Rave (5. Juli)
Heute Abend bricht die andere Welt auf: elektronische Klangflächen, sphärische Visuals, pulsierende Beats. Mit dabei: Project Wanderer, Henry Purcell, Klaus Nomi, Jan de Jong, Hermann Hesse und Ocean Seven.
Es wird laut, experimentell, kontrastreich – und ich bin gespannt, wie sich diese Welt im Schloss inszenieren lässt. Für mich persönlich mal wieder: komplett anders – und genau deshalb fotografisch spannend.
Festival between the Worlds - two evenings full of contrasts and magic (4-5 July)
Two days, two worlds - and me in the middle of it all.
The Festival between the Worlds (original German: Festival zwischen den Welten) at Kleiningersheim Castle was something very special for me as a photographer. Usually I'm out and about between wild pits, hard riffs and screaming vocals - but this Friday evening took me out of my routine and into a completely different world.
The motto of the first day was "Irish Night". The centre of attention: countertenor Nils Wanderer. With incredible stage presence and impressive vocal power, he set the tone for the evening - sometimes fragile, sometimes full of radiant intensity.
By his side: Sharon Lyons, whose voice is familiar to many from the series _Vikings_ . She contributed the impressive song "Sacrifice" to the series - an archaic improvised vocal track recorded in Devil's Glen in Ireland. Live, in the setting of the castle, her voice had a goosebump effect that went even deeper.
The two were accompanied by the Irish Scotia Ensemble, who made the stage vibrate with sensitive playing and a lot of soul. And when the sun slowly set, golden light touching the walls and the birds almost joining the song - the moment was perfect.
An evening between light and music, sound and silence - and the audience right in the middle of it, just as moved as I was behind the camera.
Day 2 - Electronic Rave (5 July)
Tonight the other world breaks open: electronic soundscapes, spherical visuals, pulsating beats. With us: Project Wanderer, Henry Purcell, Klaus Nomi, Jan de Jong, Hermann Hesse and Ocean Seven.
It will be loud, experimental, full of contrasts - and I'm excited to see how this world can be staged in the castle. For me once again: completely different - and therefore photographically exciting.
